Where authors and readers come together!

Lynne's Diaries are a graphic narrative of her life from birth on the 1st July 1934 to date in "Electronic Book" format

My first book titled "From BRIGANDS TO V BOMBERS" covers the period from birth, to the end of her RAF career in 1989. (A total of thirty nine and a half years. She enlisted as a "Boy Entrant" [Airframe mechanic] in September 1949 and retired as a Flight Sergeant [Aircraft Fitter Airframe] on the 1st July 1989).

It was never envisioned that there would be more than one volume. However the tide of events were to prove differently and my second book is titled  "Diaries of a Transfemale". (12th May 1989-31st Dec 2001)

I had decided to keep my diaries going in an effort to try and make some sense of what was happening to me. In this way I amassed a large amount of data and subsequently decided to keep writing up the ongoing saga to show anyone who finds him/herself in the same situation that all things are possible.

This book tells the story of her transition and all that that entails! Plus the day to day living in her new role. I must stress however that this is the way "I did it".   It may not work this way for anyone else!

I was not the first "Transgender person" in the world and I most certainly will not be the last.    I also hope that this story will enlighten many other people as to the plight facing "Transgender people" in their fight to be themselves.

Please remember, we are ALL human and can be hurt.

For a better informed view of the subject could I invite you to take a look at the "Press For Change" web site  http://www.pfc.org.uk/

Yet more very informative sites can be found at http://www.lynnconway.com   which is Lynn's home page and has links to other research including the one on her "Investigative report on TS prevalence", which also shows how the figures were calculated.       This site also has another link to Donna Patricia Kelly's report on the prevalence of transsexualism in the UK which makes interesting reading.

Just to show that the Transgender/ Transsexual issue is not just a western society issue please take time to browse the following web site. "Transgender Asia" and read Prof.Sam Winter's words.    http;//web.hku.hk/~sjwinter/TransgenderASIA/

To quote Lynn Conway: "I think that it is very important for people to know that transsexualism isn't such a totally rare condition, and that it occurs once in a while in every extended family. Were folks to realize that, they might think more seriously about how"

Lynne's update.

Currently embroiled with the Pensions Service and Tribunal Service with regards to my Old Age Pension which was reduced shortly after I received my new Birth Certificate!!!!!!even though I paid all my subs as a male of the species.

In June 2005 I flew to Halifax Nova Scotia then drove a rental Jeep to Goose Bay Labrador. (Highways 389 & 500) The intention being to be on the Goose on the 1st July 40 years after I was stationed there with the RAF from 1st July 1964 to 10th July 1965. The journey lasting 3 weeks was a great success and almost deserves a web site on it's own. I then drove back to Halifax from where I flew to Newark International where I collected a rental car and drove to visit friends in Chester NJ. A week later found me flying back to Halifax for my connecting flight back to the UK.

THIS SAGA IS NOW AVAILABLE TO READ AT THE END OF THIS WEB SITE. (Some Pictures - not enough web space)

At the end of 2005 I found myself at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire in the role of Consultant Engineer on the "Vulcan to the Sky Project". Not without some soul searching I might add. Not only did I have to go back thro a time warp but they had to come to terms with my new persona. Needless to say everything has worked out fine and I'm still on the team in July 2007. Thank you all.

The BIG DAY - 18th October 2007. She flew. Back in the air where she truly belongs. A new page called Lynne-Q-AVNSC is now added to give a very brief synopsis of some of the work I got involved with over the period 15th Aug 2005 to 18th Oct 2007.
